このコラムではLIBERTY代表、藤川恭宏のご学友の国際法の教授であられた長田祐卓 (Osada Yutaka) 先生のボキャブラリー集を皆様に提供させていただきます。
長田先生は慶應義塾大学、法学部、同大学院（博士課程在学中、アメリカトップランキング校の一つ、ジョージタウン大学ローセンターに留学）博士課程終了後、母校慶応大学、駿河台大学、尚美学園大学、大学院で教鞭を取られました。国際法の中でも特に宇宙法を研究され、慶応大学から今年、博士号を授与されました。

conclave [コンクレイヴ] (n.)（カトリックの）コンクラーベ、法王選出会議、秘密会議

Cardinals won’t be allowed to tweet once inside the conclave because the Vatican doesn’t want a tweet to upsatage the white smoke.

枢機卿たちはいったん法王選出会議にはいるとツイッターを使ってはいけないことになる。何故なら、ヴァチカンは（公式の知らせの前に）白い煙を出し抜くためにツイッターを使わせたくないからだ。
